China aims to achieve forest cover for over 30% of its vast land by 02050. China’s rapid transition to reforest vast swathes of depleted and deserted territory represents the largest ecological restoration project the world has ever seen. It has since the 01990’s increased its forests from 17% to 22%, meaning an increase of over 500.000 km2, almost the size of France.
